It is believed that the Scots were the first to start preparing such drinks. Only instead of milk, they used ale.
The first mention of this drink was in 1775, Jonathan Boucher wrote a whole poem about it. But it’s only strange that it was published 30 years after the death of the writer. This confuses us more and more in solving this mystery.
In the 19th century, the recipe changed. The British replaced the ale with milk and spirits and added spices. It is in this form that Eggnog has become a popular Christmas drink in Europe and the United States.

Separate the egg yolks, pour the yolks into a blender, add sugar and vanilla, beat well. You should have a smooth paste. Pour the mixture into a saucepan, add milk or cream, stir. Add cinnamon. Put the saucepan on very low heat and keep it on the fire for 15 minutes, stirring constantly (the drink should never be brought to a boil).
