Mark Vande Hei has set the US record. He stayed for the most number of days on the International Space Station during a single flight. This period numbers 355 days.

It is reported that the astronaut, who reached the ISS on April 9 of last year on the Soyuz MS-18, broke the previous record that belonged to Scott Kelly. It was set on March 2, 2013, the man was at the station 15 days less.

NASA calculated that in the 355 days that the astronaut spent on the ISS during one flight, the station made 5680 orbits around the Earth. In addition, it covered a total of more than 240 million km. For the American astronaut, this was already the second flight into orbit. In general, he spent 523 days in space.

The world record for the longest stay on the orbital station during one flight belongs to Valery Polyakov. The astronaut from Russia was in space for 437 days (starting from January 1994 and ending in March 1995).
