Incredibly Are Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy Gullwing 1955 Was Sold at Auction

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL

An incredibly rare 1 of 29 silver 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy Gullwing was sold for $6.8 million at RM Sotheby’s in Scottsdale. The new record was set by the iconic model. The previous most expensive deal amounted to $4.7 million in 2012.

To be honest, bids didn’t actually reach the sizes that were predicted, $7 million to $9 million, the final auction price was enough to establish the record. Alloy Gullwing changed the standard steel bodywork with an aluminum one. All glass except the windshield was replaced by the plexiglass. That allows making the car 20kg lighter to ensure vehicles greater competitiveness in races.

So, what can you say about the price? Which color of cars do you prefer? Leave your comments below the article!
